EVENT OVERVIEW

  • Time: January 14 to January 28, 2025 (15th to 29th day of the Lunar December).

  • Location: Nguyen Van Cua Street and Binh Dong Wharf, Wards 13 & 14, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City.

  • Significance: This is a traditional cultural event that recreates the bustling flower markets of Southern Vietnam’s waterways. Boats filled with blooming flowers and ornamental trees dock along the canal, creating a nostalgic and festive atmosphere to welcome Lunar New Year.

  • Number of stalls: 689 total stalls, including 634 flower and ornamental plant booths and 55 fruit and vegetable stalls.

  • Participating garden households: Nearly 700 florists and farmers from 12 provinces and cities across Vietnam such as Vinh Long, Dong Thap, Ben Tre, Long An, Tien Giang, Binh Thuan, Ninh Thuan, Binh Phuoc, Lam Dong, Kon Tum, Binh Dinh, Thua Thien Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City.


🎉 HIGHLIGHT ACTIVITIES

  • Opening ceremony: Held at 7:00 PM on January 24, 2025, featuring live music and artistic performances.

  • Traditional art shows: Don Ca Tai Tu (Southern folk music) performed on boats along the Tau Hu Canal from Jan 24–27.

  • Cultural displays: Including the Calligraphy Street, “Nghia Tinh” Flower Path, and themed installations such as “Intangible Heritage Street of Vinh Long” and “Dalat Flower Space.”

  • Interactive activities:

    • Bánh tét wrapping demonstrations

    • Calligraphy writing sessions

    • Flower-decorated bicycle contest (using recycled materials)

    • Photography and songwriting competitions with the theme: “Spring Cruise on Boats and Wharfs”
